September 12 Apple Event: Anticipate iPhone 15
Apple’s Fall Event, scheduled for September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, 10 a.m. local time, is eagerly awaited.
Named ‘Wonderlust,’ the event is anticipated to showcase the iPhone 15 lineup, comprising the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Alongside, there’s speculation about the introduction of new Apple Watch iterations, potentially including the Apple Watch Series 9 and an improved Apple Watch Ultra.
Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo disclosed that certain iPhone 15 models might integrate stacked sensors, with expectations for their absence in the iPhone 15 Pro models due to production limitations, hinting at their potential inclusion in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
Reports suggest the iPhone 15 Pro Max could feature a periscope zoom lens, potentially offering 5x or 6x optical zoom, a substantial upgrade from the current 3x zoom, potentially setting it apart from the standard iPhone 15 Pro in terms of camera enhancements.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg mentions the migration of key features from the iPhone 14 Pro models to the standard iPhone 15 lineup, such as the A16 chip, Dynamic Island design, and a 48-megapixel primary rear camera.
Gurman predicts a redesigned titanium frame for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, alongside narrower display bezels and the use of a 3-nanometer A17 processor to power these models.
There are rumors of a new customizable side button replacing the traditional mute switch, which has been a staple since the original iPhone’s debut in 2007.
Expectations include improved optical zoom for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, compliance with the EU’s new regulations through USB-C charging across all four iPhone 15 models, departing from the Lightning port introduced in 2012.
While these rumors are from reliable sources, confirmation awaits Apple’s official announcement. PetaPixel will cover the event to deliver all the details as soon as they’re disclosed.
