Google is gearing up for the launch of its upcoming Pixel series smartphones, including the Google Pixel 9. According to recent reports, Google is expected to introduce the “Adaptive Touch” feature in the upcoming Pixel series. This new feature, as reported by Android Authority, will allow users to automatically adjust the sensitivity of the phone’s screen based on various parameters, primarily its capability.

To access the ‘Adaptive Touch’ feature on the Pixel phone, users can navigate to the phone’s ‘Settings,’ tap on ‘Display,’ and then select ‘Touch sensitivity.’ The environmental factors that will trigger adaptive touch to change automatically have not been identified yet. However, it is speculated that Google might introduce a feature similar to the OnePlus 12’s ‘Aqua touch,’ which adjusts the touch sensitivity when the phone gets wet.

Besides the details mentioned earlier, it remains unconfirmed whether the ‘Adaptive Touch’ feature will exclusively debut on the Pixel 9 or if it will extend to other Pixel smartphones. Google’s quarterly Pixel Feature Drop upgrades introduce new features to older Pixel phones but also intentionally remove some features that older Pixels can physically support.
