Is there a way to subtly wear false lashes?

Facing a beauty challenge? Our expert is here with advice in her latest column. This week, Rachael inquires about achieving long, luscious lashes without resembling an antique doll.

Lashes have taken center stage in the beauty scene over the past decade, and there are numerous methods to enhance them. Among the top choices, lash extensions stand out, requiring two to three hours for application and lasting up to a month. When done skillfully, they can appear natural, especially with the Ellipse flat lashes that boast forked ends, doubling the volume without added weight. It’s advised to steer clear of Russian lash extensions, as they tend to look obviously fake and can give off the eerie vibe reminiscent of antique dolls that blink in a mildly unsettling manner.

Another option is Lashify, involving the application of small lash sections to the underside of your natural lashes. Once you grasp the technique, excellently elucidated on its YouTube channel, these lashes are surprisingly easier to apply than regular strip lashes and provide a more natural look. They have a potential lifespan of up to a week, and for an enhanced yet subtle effect, opt for lengths that are 1-2mm longer than your natural lashes.

Another option is the classic false lash, commonly referred to as the strip lash, which is affixed using glue. For effortless application, opt for lashes with an exceptionally fine band. Alternatively, consider trying a half-strip lash positioned on the outer corner of the lash line for an incredibly natural appearance.

As a personal favorite, I recommend a combination of a lash tint and lash lift performed at a reputable establishment like the nationwide chain Blink Brow Bar. Follow this up with a generous application of a highly dramatic mascara, such as Fenty Hella Thicc, and add a few cluster lashes for a subtle boost in fullness. Embrace those fluttering lashes!
