Samsung FIT Plus: Modular Storage for Compact Laptops

2 min read

The FIT Plus is a plug-and-stay flash storage device, according to Samsung

Even while many laptops these days have at least 512 GB of inbuilt storage, this capacity can fill up quickly. The FIT Plus, a new product from Samsung, offers your laptop an additional 512 GB of external storage.

One of the smallest flash storage devices that Samsung sells is the FIT Plus. All-in-one (AIO) PCs and smart TVs can be used with it, even though laptops are its intended use. It is tiny—it looks like a wireless mouse dongle—but it has 512 GB of storage capacity.

Regular flash drives left connected to a device run the risk of being damaged by unintentional bumps, which is eliminated by the FIT Plus. Because of its small size, it can be plugged in and left unattended, lowering the possibility of harming the USB port or the storage device. It has a tiny hole to connect a lanyard or attach it to a keychain for those who need to move it between devices.

With read/write rates of up to 400MB/s when paired with a laptop that supports the USB 3.2 Gen1 standard, the Samsung FIT Plus truly shines. It can transfer a 4 GB file in less than 10 seconds because to its capacity.

Although Samsung states the FIT Plus is suited for Mac, this pertains mostly to older MacBooks, as most modern Mac models launched in the previous five years lack a USB-A connector. Samsung ought to think about releasing a USB-C version that works with iPhones, iPads, and Android smartphones if it wants to appeal to Mac customers.

There are four different storage capacities available for the Samsung FIT Plus flash drive: 64 GB, 128 GB (Rs 4,948), 256 GB (Rs 7,398), and 512 GB. With its five-proof defence, it is impervious to shock, magnetic fields, water, x-rays, and extremely high and low temperatures. Because of this, it’s a great addition for laptop users, especially those whose computers don’t allow for internal storage extension.
